It was June 8, 2016, Wednesday when I received a call from Mag TV Na! a local show in Cebu on a well known TV station ABS-CBN. Mag TV Na! is a local telamagazine show that showcases Cebu’s culture and its people. The shows content include stories of places of interest, lifestyle, homemaker tips, fashion, food, health and wellness. Stories of hope and empowerment as well as advocacies that rouse interest to move forward. It was June 9, 2016 when the interview happened, they came at exactly 9am that morning, It was Borgie Cabigas the host of Mag TV Na! who interviewed me. The show featured my photos, as I started beekeeping because of a single picture that I captured while taking photos of bees, the interview started from there and went on as the host ask me on what made me decide to keep bees I told them how important the bees were in our environment, it was the bees that taught me to believe in creation, that there is a God who created everything. I Searched wikipedia and google the existence of Flowers and bees according to evolution theory, and this is what I found out: The first flowering plants known to exist are from 160 million years ago and according to evolutionary believers they diversified enormously during the Lower Cretaceous and became wide spread around 120 million years ago, and bee fossil records dated back only about 65 million years. The big question is how could the flowering plant survive for about 50-60 million years when there's nothing around to pollinate them.
Isaiah 55:8
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
This verse is God's way of saying that He is mysterious and we have to live with it. One of the main message I brought in the interview was how important the bees are in pollinating plants and trees, they are the best pollinators around naturally, without them fruits and vegetables will not be possible. I was also asked by the host on what are the difficulties in keeping bees, I answered him that one of the difficult stage we experienced was during dearth period where varroa mites are abundant, these mites were considered parasites for the bees, el niño was also considered a problem during the honeyflow season where we only harvested a few because plants die because of drought, compared to the previous years of honeyflow we've exp[erienced drought was really a problem to consider and it affects their forage. I was asked by the host what are the requirements in beekeeping and I answered him that it takes courage, passion and love inorder to become a beekeeper, one of the major requirements on where to place the bees were also asked by the host and I answered him that the colonies were placed in an area were the bees can freely fly around to forage, and during night time colonies must not be placed on a direct light since they might mistook it as a morning light and they will suffer fatigue, the host also asked me to describe my relationshiop with the bees and I told them, I thank God for the wisdom that I received to know the bees, for most people have fear for the bees, but if you have wisdom in knowing them you will see how important they are to our environment, people fear the bees for their sting but when honybee stings they die, it is painful to experience stings but if you know the bees they sting because they are protecting the colony, just like the warrior code "Sacrifice oneself so that others may live." knowing the bees will make you learn lots of things, it will take your fear out for them, and if they believe in karma you are already helping the plants and the trees and not only that animals depend on the plants and the trees and so are we, and honey have medicinal benefits for us, bees are life giving creature as the host says they are part of the cycle of life. and as of June 12, 2016, Sunday it was aired.
