last June 23, 2015 the weather bureau officially announced the onset of rainy season, and I still have to harvest the surplus honey yet and leave enough honey for the bees for this rainy season, I'm just waiting for the right time for the sun to show up, leaving the bees with honey on rainy season have an upsides like there are less robbing, less brood diseases and a healthier more balanced ecosystem in the hive. Bees are aggressive on rainy season maybe because a lot of moisture in the hive may endanger them . It is already rainy season and yet I still can see flowers blooming from the trees guess it is still a good sign that they can still forage nectar and pollen for the hive although dearth period is already near. Bees still fly even if it is raining and it appears they can tell the difference between a light rain that will keep going and a storm coming in. Bees can detect changes in air pressure. If it's going to rain and air pressure drops, they stay in their hives. Some bees may fly back to their hives when a rain starts, but most bees will not leave their hives when it is raining. If the rain is too heavy, they are unable to fly. Rainy season is also not a good time for those who have a colony with virgin queens, for the mating flight may be unsuccessful due to the rain, virgin queen may not come back, or might result to a drone layer queen.
